Katie Shea Design is thrilled with the opportunity to create a special Cupcake Wrapper from the image chosen by the Staten Island Cake Artist for his July 9th 2011 Belmont Special Olympics Event.
This week my son and I had the opportunity to meet up with Vincent at his Bakery on Staten Island, NY.
We presented Vincent with a dozen “Roses of Distinction” and the special Cupcake Wrappers created for Staten Island Cakes by Katie Shea Design.
The Staten Island Cake Artist, Vincent Buzzetta was asked to present a Cake in the winner’s circle at Belmont Race Track for the Special Olympics Event.
Baker Vinny Buzzetta knew it was going to be tough being on a reality show built around his Staten Island business, The Cake Artist, but there are times the work can be overwhelming. Contd…..

Vincent Buzzetta is the owner and executive pastry chef of The Cake Artist of Staten Island. Vinny received his training at the prestigious French Culinary Institute of New York City. One of his instructors was Lauri Ditunno of Cake Alchemy an alumnus of Amazing Wedding Cakes.
At 21, Vinny is the youngest shop owner in the Amazing Wedding Cake line up and as such brings a youthful exuberance to his cake designs.
His shop specializes in wedding cakes, cupcakes, hand decorated cookies along with chocolate and sugar based sculptures. Vinny transforms his high-end confections into edible works of art that elevate any occasion into a once in a lifetime experience. His innovative use of flavor and texture satisfies even the most discriminating palate.

Picture this…you’re getting married next year, and your spouse suggests that rather than taking a traditional route when purchasing a wedding cake, you do something a little more unique and exciting. Perhaps you met at a Star Wars convention, and your culinary-dream-of-a-wedding-cake would be a Millennium Falcon with Princess Leia and Han Solo holding up a sign that says, “Just married.” If that’s the case, dream no further. Vincent Buzzetta, who is the Executive Pastry Chef and Owner of The Cake Artist in Staten Island, will be happy to accept your challenge.
